Why seats wear out here

Wet Coats, Dry Heat, Full Rows

Auditorium seating reupholstery Chicago venues ask for usually comes down to the same three things.

Winter coats

From November to March the audience sits in damp wool with slush on their boots. Salt and grit grind into the front edge and the lower back of every seat.

Stain removal

Forced-air heat

Big rooms run dry all winter. Vinyl arm caps and leather recliner covers lose their give and split at the corners first.

Crack repair

Every seat, every day

A Loop stage, a suburban high school and a campus lecture hall all fill the same seats over and over. The center rows go flat years before the side aisles.

How we work

The Seats Never Leave the Building

Questions

Auditorium Seating Reupholstery Chicago FAQ

Do the seats have to leave the building?
No. Chicago work is done on site. We unbolt seat pads and backs row by row, recover them in a spare room, lobby or stage, and bolt them back onto the same standards before we leave.
When is the best time to schedule?
Most venues book the quiet weeks: summer break for schools, the gap between seasons for theaters, weekdays for houses of worship. We plan sections so the room can still open if it has to.
Can you match seats we are not replacing?
Yes. We work from a seat you already have, matching the fabric, color, welt and stitch pattern, so a recovered section does not stand out from the rest of the house.
Will the fabric meet fire safety requirements?
We source contract fabrics that come with flammability test data, so your facility team and fire marshal can check them against the codes that apply to your building.
Can you recover just a few seats?
Yes. A handful of torn seats in the center section is a common call. We match them to the rest of the row so nobody can tell which ones were done. Larger sections are planned in phases if the budget is spread over more than one year.
Do you fix the tip-up mechanism too?
Our work is the covers, foam, welts and arm caps. If we find a broken hinge, a loose standard or a cracked seat pan while the seat is apart, we mark it and tell your facility team, so the part can be ordered from your seating supplier.
How do I get a price?
Photograph one full row with the seat numbers visible, plus a close-up of the worst seat, and send it to office@leatherrestorepro.com or use the form below. Auditorium seating reupholstery Chicago quotes start from that.

Seating in assembly rooms falls under the NFPA 101 Life Safety Code. Your fire marshal can tell you which edition your building follows.
