Settle the Claim With a Repair
Furniture damage repair after moving Chicago customers ask for is usually local damage: one corner, one arm, one seam. It rarely means the whole piece is lost.
- 01
Repair costs less than replacing
A torn corner or a deep scratch on a leather sofa is usually a repair, not a new sofa. That keeps the claim small for the mover and the furniture for the customer.
- 02
Done in the customer's home
We come to the new address, so the piece does not have to be moved again. Most damage from a move can be fixed where the furniture now stands.
- 03
Paperwork that settles the claim
Each piece gets an itemized written estimate and before and after photos, so the moving company, the customer and the insurer see the same record.
Six Kinds of Moving Damage
Door frames, stairwells, tape, dollies and blankets. This is the damage we see most after a move.

Furniture Damage Repair After Moving Chicago FAQ
Damaged in a move this week? Send a photo while the claim is fresh.
Send Photos →I am a customer. Can I book a repair myself?
Yes. If your furniture was damaged in a move, send photos with the form below. If your mover is covering the cost, add their name and your claim number.
Do you work with moving companies on claims?
Yes. Moving and relocation companies send us the damaged pieces and the customer's details, and we handle the estimate and the repair.
Can every piece of moving damage be repaired?
Most cuts, tears, scratches, punctures and split seams on leather can be repaired. If a frame is broken or a panel is too damaged, the estimate will say so honestly.
What about furniture in storage?
Damage found when a piece comes out of storage is repaired the same way. Tell us where the piece is now.
Is the estimate free?
Yes. Use the form on this page or email the photos to office@leatherrestorepro.com. The estimate is free and does not commit you to the repair.
Moves within Illinois are licensed by the Illinois Commerce Commission, which also handles complaints about household movers.
