Why decorators call us

A Refresh, Not a Replacement

Furniture repair for interior decorators Chicago clients ask about is usually about keeping something: a piece with history, a good frame or a find from an estate sale.

  1. 01

Work with what the client owns

A refresh rarely means new furniture. The inherited club chair, the vintage settee and the sofa with good bones are repaired and brought into the new look.

  2. 02

    Finds that are worth saving

Estate-sale and vintage pieces often have loose joints, tired leather or worn trim. We tell you honestly what a piece needs before you commit to it.

  3. 03

    Patina kept where it belongs

Old leather should still look old, just cared for. We repair and recolor without stripping the character your client chose the piece for.

Furniture Repair for Interior Decorators Chicago FAQ

Found a piece you are not sure about? Send a photo before your client buys it.

    Send Photos
Can you work on antique and vintage pieces?

Yes. Older leather, tooled panels, tapestry seats and nailhead trim are repaired with care for the original character.

Can you match an existing color in the room?

Yes. We mix leather and vinyl color against a cushion, a swatch or the piece next to it, and test it before applying.

Do you repair fabric as well as leather?

We repair trim, piping, seams and small areas of upholstery fabric. Full re-covering in fabric is quoted per piece.

Can you look at a piece before my client buys it?

Send photos of the find and we will tell you what it is likely to need, so you can decide whether it is worth it.

    Is the quote free?

Yes. Use the form on this page or email the photos to office@leatherrestorepro.com; there is no charge for the quote.

Old leather that has darkened and softened with age has a patina worth keeping; good repair works with it, not against it.
